Situation: You're presenting an extensive table of data that users want to be able to view ordered by different columns. They would like to click a column heading to make it the primary sort key followed by last name and first name. Clicking the column heading should toggle ascending and descending order.
Test this example—click on the column headings—and note the elapsed time so it can be compared to the method of Replacing the Table to reload the sorted data. The sorting code is explained on the last page. The table loading technique used here is explained on page Loading by Replacing Rows.
Loading time was milli seconds.
